Windows defender is the Anti-Virus come within the widows 8. You don’t have to install this anti-virus inwindows 8 because Microsoft has built it attach in windows 8 already. Windows defender can also scan malware spyware and adware.

How to get windows defender?
Home: In tab home we can get Quick, Full and custom scan. Note: Home tab also alert some important message like update, clean, ….If you use windows 8 you just to go control panel and you will see windows defender. Note: show it in small icon. To create a shortcut to desktop you just right click, create shortcut. And you can see windows defender on desktop right now.Note: you can access windows defender only you don’t have any antivirus in your computer.
- Full scan: Windows defender will scan the whole computer with the detail. But it takes a long time to complete the scan. I recommend you to use the full scan for your first scan your computer.
- Quick scan: The same as the full scan but it takes a little time to complete the scan. I recommend you to use quick scan if you already scan your computer with full scan for once.
- Custom scan: Windows defender will only scan some directory in your computer or your device. I recommend you to use custom scan you scan your USB flash.
Update: This tab allow you to update the definition of
antivirus. You just click update and have internet connection. Note: If you
update for the first time it might take some time.
History: In this tab it records all the process of the
windows defender.
- Quarantined Item: this is the entire item that windows defender deletes from your computer you can restore it back.
- Allowed item: the entire item that windows defender allows by your command. You can remove to block it.
- All detect items: it show all item that detect by windows defender
Setting: it is the advance tab to control windows defender
- Real-time protection: Protect your computer with the real time. Every time you open your computer it will protect
- Excluded file and location: This you can input the location that you don’t want windows defender to scan to make your scan faster.
- Excluded files type: This function tell windows defender to skip the file type that you don’t want to scan to make your scan process faster. I recommend you to put file type of video, audio and picture. Example: avi, flv, mp4,…, mp3, wav,… , jpg, png, …. Warning: don’t put exe file
- Excluded process: Skip process application that you don’t want to scan.
- Advanced: Enable and disable to scan achieve file, scan removable drive, create system restore point, view history, and time to remove file from quarantine
- Administer: Disable the windows defender
